ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Accessibility
Walnut Tree Sanctuary is a small association in Saint-Nauphary, France. We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including anyone browsing with a screen reader, a keyboard, screen magnification, or one hand on a phone.
Where we stand
This site is partially accessible. It has not been formally audited against the French RGAA or WCAG 2.1 level AA, and we are not claiming conformance with either. A review in October 2026 found problems we know about and intend to fix:
-
Many photographs have no alternative text, so a screen reader announces them as "image" or reads out a camera filename.
-
Headings are not in a logical order on several pages, which makes the site harder to skim with a screen reader.
-
Some labels and captions are too small to read comfortably on a phone.
-
Some controls in the photo carousels are too small to tap reliably.
-
The adoption form does not currently appear on mobile phones.
-
The volunteer form does not say what is missing when a required field is skipped.
We are working through these. This page will be updated as each one is resolved.
Built on Wix
This site is built on Wix. Some of what you meet here — the cookie notice, the shop pages, the gallery components — is generated by Wix, and we cannot change how it behaves. Where a problem is Wix's rather than ours, we will say so here rather than imply we are about to fix it.
If something is in your way
Email hello@walnuttreesanctuary. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will reply within 10 working days. If you need something from this site in another form — a dog's details read out to you, an adoption form filled in together over the phone, a document sent as plain text — ask us, and we will do it.
Last reviewed: 06.10.26. Reference standard: WCAG 2.1 AA, as a target rather than a claim. No formal third-party audit has been carried out.
