FOSTER

Foster A Dog

Some of our dogs are not ready for a forever home, and some are waiting for one that has not arrived yet. A foster home gives them somewhere to rest, learn what kindness looks like, and become the dog a family will choose.

You do not need experience. You need a safe home, patience, and room in your week. We match every dog to the household that suits them, and we stay with you the whole way.

What Fostering Looks Like

Most of our fosters take one dog at a time, for anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Some dogs arrive confident and need only a soft landing. Others are frightened of doorways, lead walks, or being touched, and progress is measured in small things — eating while you are in the room, sleeping through the night, coming to you instead of away.

You tell us what you can handle. We will never place a dog with you that we do not believe you can manage.

What We Provide

We pay all veterinary costs and provide food for as long as the dog is with you.

We’ll lend you a crate, lead and bowls if you need them. You’ll have a named contact at the sanctuary, reachable out of hours in an emergency.

The dog remains in our care throughout — legally, medically and financially. You’ll sign a foster agreement before the dog arrives that sets this out in writing.

Ready?

Fill in the questionnaire below. It is detailed on purpose — the more we know about your home, the better the match, and the less likely a placement is to fail.
