Epi

SPONSOR ME

Epi is a senior dog living with epilepsy. We first met him during our visit to the public non-kill shelter of Alba Iulia, in Transylvania, Romania, in October 2025.

Although dogs are not euthanized at this shelter, it receives almost no international support and very little visibility outside Romania. As a result, many dogs spend years confined in poor conditions, receiving only the most basic care. It is a place where dogs slowly fade away, forgotten.

Knowing how difficult shelter life is for dogs with epilepsy, we specifically asked whether there were any epileptic dogs at the shelter. Stress, constant noise and the lack of appropriate medical treatment often make their condition much worse. We were introduced to two dogs, and Epi was one of them.

By then, Epi had already spent around five years confined to a kennel of barely one square metre. Like many dogs living with epilepsy, he finds it difficult to share his space with other dogs and is happiest when he has a quiet environment of his own. He is initially fearful and can be defensive, but with time, patience and consistency, he can form bonds with the people who earn his trust.

We are determined to bring Epi to the sanctuary as soon as possible, where he can finally receive the medical treatment he needs, live in a calm environment and experience the peace and comfort he has been denied for so many years.

By sponsoring Epi, you will help provide his food, veterinary care, epilepsy medication and everything he needs while he waits for his new beginning.
