Florrie's journey began at the Lancrăm high-kill shelter in Transylvania, Romania, where she arrived on 21 July 2025. From the moment she arrived, she appeared incredibly gentle, delicate, and painfully thin. We were deeply concerned about how she would cope in such a harsh environment, knowing that dogs like Florrie often struggle to survive in overcrowded shelters.

For that reason, Walnut Tree Sanctuary rescued Florrie in October 2025 and transferred her to Elena, one of our partner fosters in Bulbucata, south of Bucharest, where she has been waiting ever since.

We have now visited Florrie twice, and she has completely exceeded our expectations. Beneath her fragile appearance was an incredibly joyful, affectionate, and energetic young dog just waiting for the chance to blossom.

Florrie is absolutely full of life. She races around with endless enthusiasm, happily seeks out human attention, and approaches everyone with excitement and affection. She has a wonderfully playful personality and seems determined to make the most of every moment.

Still young and with so much love to give, Florrie is more than ready to leave her difficult past behind and begin the happy life she has always deserved.
