Hugo

SPONSOR ME

Hugo is a stunning black Shar Pei who arrived at the high-kill shelter of Lancrăm, Transylvania, Romania, in January 2025. Already eight years old when he arrived, Hugo remained at Lancrăm for nine long months, overlooked simply because of his age and without anyone coming forward to rescue him.

We met Hugo during our trip to Romania in May and fell in love with him almost instantly. He is a relatively small Shar Pei with a beautiful face, a joyful spirit and an endlessly curious personality. Hugo gets along well with calm, gentle dogs and enjoys quiet companionship.

After nine months at Lancrăm, Hugo was finally rescued and transferred to one of our partner boarding kennels, where he continues to wait for his journey to our sanctuary. Between the shelter and the boarding kennel, he has now spent more than a year and a half behind bars. At his age, he deserves far better than that. We are determined to bring Hugo to the sanctuary as soon as possible, where he can finally enjoy the comfort, security and love he has waited so long to find.

By sponsoring Hugo, you will help provide his food, veterinary care and everything he needs while he waits for his new life to begin.
