Mateo

SPONSOR ME

Mateo was five years old when he arrived at the high-kill shelter of Lancrăm, Transylvania, Romania, in June 2025. Frightened and confused, he spent his days behind bars desperately seeking attention and affection from anyone who walked past.

We rescued Mateo in October and transferred him to Alina's boarding kennel near Brăila, in eastern Romania. Since then, he has been an excellent resident, living peacefully with the many dogs that have shared his kennel over the months. Friendly and easy-going, he has never caused any problems.

When we visited him in May, we discovered a dog with a truly wonderful personality. Mateo is playful, affectionate and full of joy. He loves people, is highly motivated by treats and thoroughly enjoys every opportunity to go outside. Like many dogs who have spent so much of their lives in kennels, he will need to learn a few manners and improve his lead walking, but his eagerness to learn and his love of human companionship make him an exceptional dog. Mateo would make a truly wonderful companion.

By sponsoring Mateo, you will help provide his food, veterinary care and everything he needs while he waits for the loving future he deserves.
