Mia's journey began at the Lancrăm high-kill shelter in Transylvania, Romania, where she arrived during the winter of 2025. Life in the shelter was particularly difficult for Mia, and over time she lost a significant amount of weight while waiting for someone to notice her.

Despite her sweet and gentle nature, Mia attracted little interest from rescuers. As the months passed, we knew we could not leave her behind. In October 2025, Walnut Tree Sanctuary stepped in and gave Mia the chance she had been waiting for.

After leaving Lancrăm, Mia was first placed at one of our partner shelters in Timișoara, under the care of Ramona. She was later transferred to Angela's shelter in Deva, where she continues to wait patiently for the next chapter of her life to begin.

Mia is a friendly and affectionate girl who enjoys both human company and the companionship of other dogs. Her gentle personality has never faded, despite everything she has experienced. She is the kind of dog who asks for very little and deserves so much more.

Mia has now spent a long time waiting for her future to begin. We hope to welcome her to the sanctuary soon, where she can finally leave her shelter life behind and take the next step towards finding the loving home she deserves.

After everything she has endured, Mia deserves the chance to know stability, comfort, and the love of a family of her own.
