Naya was three years old when she arrived at the high-kill shelter of Lancrăm, Transylvania, Romania, on 26 September 2025. Small dogs are especially vulnerable in high-kill shelters, where they often have to compete with much larger dogs for food and can easily become victims of attacks. We knew we had to act quickly to give Naya a chance.

We rescued Naya in October and transferred her to Cera's boarding kennel in Bulbucata, south of Bucharest, where she has been waiting ever since.

Naya is an incredibly joyful, affectionate and energetic little dog. We visited her twice, in March and again in May, and taking a good photograph of her was almost impossible—she was simply too excited to see us! She spent her time jumping, running, covering us with kisses and inviting everyone to play. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious, and she brings happiness wherever she goes.

Naya is more than ready to begin the next chapter of her life, and we hope someone will soon notice this wonderful little dog and give her the future she deserves.
