Pip was two years old when he arrived at the high-kill shelter of Lancrăm, Transylvania, Romania, on 25 September 2025. We first met him during our visit to Lancrăm in October 2025. It was immediately obvious that he was in great danger. As a small dog forced to share a kennel with much larger dogs, his chances of survival were slim. Thin, frightened and desperately seeking attention through the bars, Pip quickly became one of our rescue priorities.

We rescued Pip at the end of October and transferred him to Alina's boarding kennel near Brăila, in eastern Romania, where he has been waiting ever since.

When we visited him again in May, we discovered an incredibly energetic, joyful and affectionate little dog. Taking Pip for a walk turned into a run—he was so excited, so powerful and so full of enthusiasm that he happily pulled us along with him! He loves jumping, giving kisses and soaking up every bit of attention he can get. His zest for life is infectious, and he would make a wonderful companion for an active family looking for a fun-loving dog to share their adventures.
