Piper's journey began at the Lancrăm high-kill shelter in Transylvania, Romania, where she arrived at the end of July 2025. Already extremely thin when she entered the shelter, Piper struggled to cope with shelter life and continued to lose weight in a difficult environment.

Knowing she needed help, Walnut Tree Sanctuary stepped in to rescue her in October 2025. After leaving Lancrăm, Piper was first placed at one of our partner shelters in Timișoara, under the care of Ramona. She was later transferred to Angela's shelter in Deva, where she continues to wait for her chance at a brighter future.

Despite everything she has been through, Piper has remained an incredibly affectionate and joyful dog. She loves being around people, enjoys attention, and is always happy when someone takes the time to make a fuss over her. She also loves playing with the other dogs and brings a cheerful energy wherever she goes.

Piper is the kind of dog who wears her heart on her sleeve. Her loving nature and enthusiasm for life have never faded, even after the hardships she has faced.

She has now spent a long time waiting for her future to begin. We hope to welcome her to the sanctuary soon, where she can take the next step towards finding the loving home she deserves.

After everything she has endured, Piper deserves the chance to know stability, comfort, and the love of a family of her own.
