Sasha

SPONSOR ME

Sasha was originally rescued from the high-kill shelter of Lancrăm, Transylvania, Romania, by another rescue organisation. She was transferred to Sabin's boarding kennel near Brăila, in eastern Romania, where she has remained ever since.

Some time later, the rescue that had saved Sasha found itself overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for a dozen dogs and reached out to us for help. They asked whether we could take over both the financial responsibility for these dogs and the task of finding them permanent homes. Of course, we said yes. That is how Sasha became part of our family.

We met Sasha for the first time during our visit in May. She is a beautiful young dog, probably a cross between a German Shepherd and a Romanian Carpathian Shepherd, with a magnificent coat that was simply crying out for a good brush! Although she was quite shy, especially around men, her curiosity soon overcame her fear. After spending some quiet time with her in her kennel, she gained enough confidence to take treats directly from the hand of our dog trainer.

That small gesture gave us great hope. We believe that, once Sasha joins us at the sanctuary and has the time and patience she needs to learn to trust people again, she will blossom into a wonderful companion. She is still a young dog, and she deserves the chance to spend the rest of her life in a loving home.

By sponsoring Sasha, you will help provide her food, veterinary care and everything she needs while she waits for that chance.
